A multi-million dollar cattle farm in Kaduna has opened for business to supply Milk Companies and cut import. President Muhammodu Buhari had an agreement in 2017 with Denmark to source their raw milk here to create jobs, and now the deal is matured.
The Ambassador of Denmark came to Kaduna Nigeria to open the cattle farm himself. I hope this will stop herdsmen/farmers clashes as herdsmen now have a potential $1.38 opportunity from milk alone. Meat is another thing.
Nigeria spends $1.3 billion annually importing milk mostly from Denmark.
According to Jasper Kamp the Ambassador of Denmark, the inauguration of the Arla Foods modern milking parlour at Zaidi farms is a big step towards business based milk production in #Kaduna state with local partnerships with Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development FMARDand Kaduna Government delivering on the bilateral Agri MoU between Nigeria and Denmark #Danida
